PhD fellow in Physics of Biological Systems at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

Scholarship Description:

Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering a PhD scholarship in Physics of Biological Systems commencing 1 September 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We are looking for an excellent and outgoing PhD candidate with physics background who is passionate in exploring microbial strategies using methodologies form theoretical physics to collaborate with a top international laboratory in microbiology. The position is associated to the center of excellence BASP (see below) and also affiliated with the Niels Bohr Institute at University of Copenhagen.

Scholarship Coverage:   The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently at a minimum DKK 306,667 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 42,361). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.

Scholarship Eligibility : The position is also available for candidates who are (or are eligible to be) enrolled at one of the faculty’s master programmes in Physics.

Applicants should hold an MSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline with good results and good English skills. As criteria for the assessment of your qualifications emphasis will also be laid on previous publications (if any) and relevant work experience.
